Twenty-five Christmas cards, and not one of them needs a stamp.
Every morning from December 1 to Christmas Day, a new card and a carol arrive in your inbox. Keep the card, print it, or send it to someone who would love to hear from you.
A few short emails before December, then one each morning until Christmas. You can leave in one click whenever you like.
You’re on the list. Your cards will come to your inbox.
While you wait, here are three good places to go next.
Open today’s door, and the carol starts to play.
A new door opens on each day of December. Until then, the first door is open, so you can see exactly what arrives.
A carol for every door, ready to play.
Press play on any carol whose door is open. Each one plays right here on the page, and the rest open one a day in December.
Most recordings are by the United States Air Force Band and its ensembles. They are works of the US government, so they are in the public domain. The Band has no connection to this calendar. The carols the Band has not recorded come from public domain recordings on Wikimedia Commons.
A carol a day, and a card that is yours to keep.
An email with your card
One line about the day’s carol and a link to your card. It is short enough to read standing at the counter with your coffee.
A door that opens
Click the date, and the card appears with its carol ready to play. Every door you have opened stays open.
Save it, print it, send it
Save the card as an image, print it for the fridge, or send it to someone who would love to hear from you. There is no watermark and no account.
Ask away. Here are the answers.
How many emails will I get?
A few short emails before December, so you know what is coming. Then one each morning from December 1 to Christmas Day. After Christmas they slow down, and you can leave in one click whenever you like.
Do I have to sign up to open the doors?
No. The calendar on this page is open to everyone, and each door opens on its date whether or not I have your email address. Signing up means the card comes to you, so you never have to remember to visit.
Can I print the cards?
Yes. Every card prints cleanly on a single sheet, and Save the card gives you an image file for a frame, a photo book, or a message to a friend.
How do I send a card to someone?
Open the card, press Share, and pick how to send it: a text, an email, a social site, or AirDrop and the other options on your device. You can also copy the link and paste it anywhere.
Where does the music come from?
Most of the recordings are by the United States Air Force Band and its ensembles. They are works of the US government, so they are in the public domain, and anyone can play and share them. The Band has no connection to this calendar. The few carols the Band has not recorded come from public domain recordings on Wikimedia Commons.
Are you going to try to sell me something?
The cards are free, and they stay free. Some of the December emails mention something I make, at the bottom, after the card. If that is not what you want, one click takes you off the list, and the calendar on this page keeps working.
