Work outside the approved scope may require a revised agreement or additional fee.

CUSTOM WORKSHOP POLICIES

Is the retainer refundable?

Because the retainer reserves development capacity and begins a custom professional engagement, it is nonrefundable once work has started. The specific payment terms, project milestones, and cancellation provisions will be included in your proposal or service agreement before development begins.

Can we change the workshop topic after development begins?

Reasonable refinements may be made during the agreed review process. A major change to the topic, audience, learning objectives, length, or deliverables may require a revised scope, timeline, and fee because it can substantially change the research and development work required.

How many revisions are included?

The number and type of review opportunities will be defined in your proposal. Feedback should be consolidated and provided during the agreed review periods. Additional revision rounds or changes outside the approved scope may require an additional fee.

Can we reschedule the live workshop?

Yes. Rescheduling terms will be included in your service agreement. Because a custom workshop involves reserved preparation and delivery time, adequate advance notice will be required. Late rescheduling, cancellation, or failure to attend may result in the workshop being treated as delivered or may require an additional scheduling fee, depending on the agreement.

Who owns the workshop materials?

Unless otherwise stated in writing, Haven Smith & Company retains ownership of its frameworks, curriculum, slides, workbooks, methods, and workshop materials.

Your organization receives the rights specifically granted in the service agreement for the agreed workshop engagement. Materials may not be reproduced, distributed, recorded, resold, or reused outside the agreed terms without written permission.

Can we record the workshop?

Recording is not automatically included. Any recording request must be discussed and approved in advance. Additional licensing terms or fees may apply based on the intended audience, access period, and use of the recording.

The single Workshop allows you to choose one established presentation: Digital Organization, Digital Safety, or Digital Legacy & Estate Planning. It includes reasonable adaptation for your audience but does not include the development of new curriculum. The Custom Workshop Retainer is for organizations that need a new topic, a specialized combination of material, or a substantially different workshop developed for their audience and goals.

How is this different from the Workshop Series?

The Workshop Series includes the three established workshops that present the complete Digital Life Management System™ Initial Cleanup framework. The Custom Workshop Retainer develops a workshop around a different subject, audience, or organizational objective.

Do we need to know exactly what workshop we want?

No. You may begin with a clearly defined topic, or you may come to us with an audience, challenge, or educational objective. The discovery process will help identify the strongest workshop direction.

Can the workshop combine more than one topic?

Yes. A custom workshop may combine relevant material from Digital Organization, Digital Safety, Digital Legacy & Estate Planning, fraud awareness, family preparedness, small-business responsibilities, or other related areas of Digital Life Management. The final scope must remain realistic for the workshop length and desired depth.

Is the workshop delivered remotely?

Yes. Custom workshops are generally delivered live through Google Meet unless another arrangement is approved in the service agreement.

How long will the custom workshop be?

Workshop length will be defined during scoping based on the topic, audience, goals, and amount of material involved. A focused workshop may fit into a one-hour format. A broader topic may require a longer presentation, multiple workshops, or a custom series.

How long does development take?

The timeline depends on the topic, research required, workshop length, review process, and current availability. Your proposal will include the anticipated development schedule and target delivery date before work begins.

How much does a custom workshop cost?

The final fee depends on the research, development, customization, presentation length, supporting materials, licensing needs, and delivery requirements. The retainer begins the engagement. Any remaining project fee and payment milestones will be explained in the proposal or service agreement.

Can we request participant materials?

Yes. Participant guides, worksheets, checklists, or other supporting resources may be included when appropriate. Their development and permitted use will be defined in the project scope.

Can we reuse the workshop internally?

Internal reuse is not automatically included. Any request to reuse slides, distribute materials, train additional groups, host a recording, or deliver the curriculum independently must be addressed through written licensing terms.

Can participants ask questions?

Yes. Live workshops can include participant discussion and questions. The amount of time available will depend on the presentation length and agreed format.

Is this legal, financial, tax, or cybersecurity advice?

No. Custom workshops provide educational guidance related to Digital Life Management. They do not replace advice from qualified legal, financial, tax, insurance, estate-planning, information-technology, or cybersecurity professionals.
