Accessibility is just another word for good design.
An accessibility audit is a careful test of your site or app that finds the barriers in its design, so more of your customers can sign up, check out, and come back. I test against WCAG 2.2 AA with screen readers, keyboards, captions, and zoom, and against the ways people really use assistive technology every day.
At JPMorgan Chase and T-Mobile, everything I led or oversaw went through accessibility testing and passed before launch. I bring that same standard to your team.
Every accessibility engagement starts with the audit. From there, you can make the fixes on your own or bring me in, and many teams keep going with AI-native product research and design.
The A+ Audit
Accessibility, plus everything else that decides whether people can use and trust your product.
A+ means accessibility, plus. Every A+ Audit starts from the government accessibility guidelines, WCAG 2.2 AA, and adds my own standard, my own steps, and my own audit software across five lenses.
Accessibility always leads. The other four lenses catch what stops people even when a page passes the guidelines.
- Accessibility
- Usability
- Trust and safety
- Site performance
- Search engine optimization
My own software
I built my own audit software, so every A+ Audit runs the same checks in the same order. It does the fast, careful work of checking every page, and I review every result myself before it reaches you.
Most teams start with an A+ Audit and keep going with R&D.
Four steps, and you know exactly what to fix first.
Step 1I test every page, and you get a score and a report with my proposed fixes.TestA+ Audit
My software checks every page, and I test by hand with screen readers, keyboards, captions, and zoom.
Step 2I walk you through your score, your report, and my proposed fixes.Walk throughA+ Audit
The fixes come in the order I would make them, starting with what blocks people most.
Step 3You decide: make the fixes on your own, or bring me in.DecideA+ Audit
If you bring me in, pricing is tiered by the type of organization, so a small nonprofit pays less than a large company.
Step 4If you bring me in, we can add a follow-up, such as a quarterly check-in.Follow upA+ Audit
Follow-up pricing is tiered the same way, and you see the price before any work begins.
What your team has in hand.
- Your Accessibility Plus score.
- A plain report with my proposed fixes that your designers, engineers, and leaders can all read.
- A walkthrough of your score, your report, and the fixes with me.
- A clear order for the fixes, starting with what blocks people most.
- The choice to make the fixes on your own or bring me in.
Hi, I’m Ashley.
I have worked for more than twenty years in accessibility, trust and safety, and product research and design. I helped create many of the systems our day-to-day lives depend on: banking, payments, identity, and fraud protection. One of my roles was vice president of product research at JPMorgan Chase, and I hold a master’s degree in human factors and systems engineering.
I write books, teach, and build good products. Whatever brought you here, I’m glad you came.
Ashley
Read my storyYou have questions, and I have plain answers.
What does an audit cost?
An Accessibility Snapshot starts at $750 and covers up to five key pages. An Essentials Audit is $2,500 for up to fifteen pages or templates, a Standard Audit is $5,500 for up to thirty pages and two key tasks, and a Complex Audit for apps, portals, and large sites starts at $9,500.
Will an audit make us compliant?
No audit can promise that on its own. The audit shows you where you stand against WCAG 2.2 AA and what to fix first, and fixing and retesting is how you close the gap.
What do you need from us?
A link to your site or app, test accounts if people have to sign in, and the tasks that matter most to your customers.
How long does an audit take?
That depends on the size of your product. You get a timeline with the scope and the price before any work begins.
What do the fixes cost?
If you bring me in to make the fixes, or for a follow-up such as a quarterly check-in, pricing is tiered by the type of organization, so a small nonprofit pays less than a large company. You see the price before any work begins.
Can you write our VPAT?
Yes. I can add an Accessibility Conformance Report, the document many teams call a VPAT, to an audit for $1,500.
