People stop where a product stops making sense.
You can bring me in for research, for design, or for both. I research three ways and show you where people stop and why, and I do the design myself, AI-native from the start.
I have led product research and design for banking, payments, identity, and fraud protection at JPMorgan Chase, Apple, and Oracle, and I hold a master’s degree in human factors and systems engineering.
I recommend every team start with an A+ Audit before R&D. See the work in my case studies.

My own software
My AI-assisted research software is my own, and it stays private. It simulates research with the people you serve, so we can test ideas before anyone’s time is spent. For design, I work primarily in Claude, with ChatGPT for images. If your team truly needs design files in another format, or prefers other tools, I am open to that conversation.
My recommendation: start with an A+ Audit before R&D.

A partner who has done this before.
- Research done one, two, or all three ways, whichever fits your question.
- AI-native designs and working prototypes I make myself.
- Accessibility and trust built in from the start.
- Clear priorities your leaders can act on.
- A principal designer and researcher who works beside your team.
Hi, I’m Ashley.
I have worked for more than twenty years in accessibility, trust and safety, and product research and design. I helped create many of the systems our day-to-day lives depend on: banking, payments, identity, and fraud protection. One of my roles was vice president of product research at JPMorgan Chase, and I hold a master’s degree in human factors and systems engineering.
I write books, teach, and build good products. Whatever brought you here, I’m glad you came.
Ashley
Read my storyYou have questions, and I have plain answers.
Can we hire you for research only, or design only?
Yes. You can bring me in for research, for design, or for both. For research, you can choose one, two, or all three ways of doing it.
What does AI-native design mean?
I design with AI, primarily in Claude, with ChatGPT for images, and I check every result myself. If your team truly needs design files in another format, or prefers other tools, I am open to that conversation.
Where should we start?
I recommend an A+ Audit first. It shows where your product has barriers today, and R&D picks up from there.
How many hours a week do you work with us?
We set that together based on your goals. You see the scope and the price before any work begins.
Do you work with our existing team?
Yes. I work beside your designers, engineers, and product managers.
